Abdishakur Abdulle currently serves as Associate Director & a Senior Research Scientist at the Public Health Research Center, New York University Abu Dhabi. Dr. Abdulle is a Harvard Global Clinical Scholar in Epidemiology and Clinical Trials and obtained his doctoral degree in applied biology from the University of Central Lancashire, UK. In addition, he holds a Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management from Australia.
Dr. Abdulle's main research interests include the epidemiology and biochemical markers of chronic diseases and obesity. He is also interested in understanding the epidemiology of childhood obesity and its impact on populations’ health, as well as identifying innovative and interdisciplinary strategies in the intervention and prevention of childhood obesity - a major risk factor for chronic diseases.
Dr. Abdulle has published over the years a substantial number of original manuscripts (with more than 16,000 citations) in peer-reviewed international journals of high repute. Dr. Abdulle is a reviewer for many international journals mainly in the field of public health, epidemiology, and basic sciences.
