    Abstract

The symmetric compactifications of string theory to 1 + 1 dimensions were discussed. The study was carried out by using the holographic principle which constrains the set of possible maximally symmetric compactification of string theory of two dimensions. The finite horizon entropies of the Rindler wedge in 1 + 1 dimensional Minkowski and anti-de Slitter space and of the de Sitter horizon in any dimension were also discussed. It was found that the exact observer complementarity is possible only if the horizone become precisely undetectable.
