Abstract
Delegates from around the world have decided to meet in South Africa in October 2005, to discuss how science can improve the lives of people in developing nations. The conference will focus on four main themes: physics and health; physics and economic development; physical education; and energy and the environment. Physists also stress on new world-class centers of excellence as they are vital for boosting science in the developing world. Experts points that the developing world has to show greater ingenuity and generate alternatives solutions, which require greater investment in science.
