Abstract
This article has attempted to stress the merits and necessity of a valid overall evaluative program of a nursing faculty's performance. Perhaps the beliefs upon which it is based are best communicated through the words of Jean Schweer: “While educational evaluation performs many functions, its chief goal is to promote change in the direction of continuous improvement for the learner, the teacher, and the total curriculum based upori evidence revealed by systematic, discreet appraisal ”[54].
