Abstract

In this paper, a new practical lattice reduction scheme, Seysen's algorithm, is combined with linear detectors such as Zero Forcing, MMSE and extended MMSE for MIMO digital communications. Seysen-based lattice-reduction aided detectors achieve the same diversity order as the optimum ML detector. It outperforms the existing LLL-based lattice-reduction aided detector. The performance improvement is more profound for MIMO systems with a larger number of transmit and receive antennas. Moreover, Seysen requires less computational time than the LLL scheme.
