Abstract
A new approximation theory for the diffracted coefficient for dielectric wedges using curve-fits on the inverse problem theory was discussed. It was shown that improvements over existing heuristic formulations could be obtained by polynomial curve-fitting of the multiplying factors in the UTD diffraction coefficients. The proposed model potentially allowed faster and more accurate propagation models. A sensitivity analysis would also be performed to test the effect on the diffraction coefficient by all parameters including incidence angle, diffraction angle and relative permittivity.
