Abstract
We investigate the possibility of using the techniques of dynamic nuclear polarization on liquid3He. We calculate the polarization rate resulting from the saturation of the electron spin resonance in a substrate immersed in the liquid. For metallic substrates, the rate will be too slow to overcome relaxation at the walls of the container. For insulating substrates, liquid polarizations enhanced by a factor μB/μN≈103 can be achieved on the order of seconds.
