Abstract

An integrated tunable chromatic dispersion compensator for 40 Gb/s NRZ and CSRZ was discussed. Compensators using ring resonator allpass filters with tuning ranges up to 500 ps/nm and signal bandwidth of 45 to 60 GHz were studied. It was found that tuning range can be further extended by increasing the number of stages and the ring resonator-based allpass filters can easily be integrated with other devices.
