Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of the performance of BPSK/QPSK modulation in a flat Rayleigh fading channel subject to flat Rayleigh fading noise, and an analytical expression for bit error probability is also provided. Based on this result, we first model the UWB interference as faded white noise and then derived an analytical model to quantify the potential interference imposed on narrowband systems that may co-locate within the spectrum of the MB-OFDM UWB system in a flat fading environment. This analysis can be extended to derive the BER for generic narrowband systems interfered with by other UWB techniques such as direct sequence (DS-UWB).
