Abstract

This paper discusses the problem of delay estimation in the context of incident management problem. It then provides the assessment of the effects of the timings of the dynamic lane clearance during traffic accidents. The data collection efforts conducted in Northern Virginia is also described. Finally, a simple case study is presented in order to demonstrate the difference between using and not using the sequential lane clearance information while estimating the traffic delays due to the incidents.
