Abstract

Survey of most recently introduced innovations in captive molding plants producing plastics automobile components as well as of some developments for the future. Installation of very large injection molding machines, partly designed for injection molding of glass fiber reinforced thermoplastics structural parts. Compression presses of over 4000-t capacity for manufacture of deck lids, heads, fenders and other large parts from sheet molding compounds, Cold forming small parts for replacement of metal ones. Thermoforming techniques for head rests made of ABS-PVC blend sheet. Computerized control system in production of plastics parts. Other uses intended are also described.
