Abstract

Based on recent bounds proposed by Milton and Kohn, we derive inequalities on the effective elasticity tensor of anisotropic two-phase composites which take into account the two-point correlations of the medium. They involve a distribution on the unit sphere which describes quantitatively the anisotropy of the aggregate. The bounds are attained by hierarchical, laminar constructions.
