Abstract

Discussion of some aspects which have to be taken into consideration when designing the proper system for dry resin handling in plastics processing plant. Some important guidelines and pertinent functional data are outlined. Diagram of typical vacuum- conveying system which runs from rail car unloading point into silos and then to required plant use points. Sketch indicates the flexibility that can be achieved with well- planned automated resin- handling system. Economic aspects of installation of rail car vacuum unloading system. Problems and solutions of in- plant material handling wit special attention paid to organization of controls for bulk systems.
