Abstract

A practical cooperation strategy is provided to facilitate the time-frequency-space diversity for the coded OFDMA system over frequency-selective Rayleigh block fading channels. To take advantage of the time-frequency dispersion and to facilitate the space diversity through cooperation, each user transmits his partner's and his own interleaved data on different subcarriers spreading over the entire available bandwidth. The allocation of subcarriers to each user and his partners can be either pre-specified or dynamically determined. Theoretical analysis on pairwise error probability and frame error probability is given to illustrate the improved diversity gain which is further verified by computer simulation results.
