Abstract

The DNA molecule was observed to pose a potential in the control of structure on the nanoscale. This behaviour of the DNA structure paved the way for several investigations. In solution synthesis, stable branched DNA molecule allowing one to make stick-figures was used to construct a covalently closed DNA molecule whose helix axes have the connectivity of a cube. The solid-support-based methodology which is more effective than solution synthesis was used to construct a molecule whose helix axes have the connectivity of a truncated octahedron. Control of branching and braiding topology are observed in these systems.
