Abstract

Editor's NoteThe 3D experience is poised to be the future of entertainment. The path to that future, however, is bumpy. Despite widely available 3D display devices, a lack of 3D content impedes the 3D industry's rapid growth. Here the authors discuss some common 3D content-creation processes and the key elements that affect quality, and present an approach that converts 2D content to 3D content as an efficient path to a 3D multimedia experience.—Wenjun Zeng
