Abstract
In the analysis of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Dredged Material Research Program (DMRP) paper describes: dredged material composition and characteristics; open water, or land disposal; marshland disposal; and dredging equipment and techniques. Description of DRMP technical and management structures as well as the implementation of the research are contained in the second part of the paper.
