    Abstract

Crystallization kinetics of colloidal hard spheres in the coexistence regime were studied. Crystal nucleation and growth in a microgravity environment on the space shuttle was characterized using time resolved Bragg light scattering. Results showed coarsening of growing crystallites, dendritic growth and face-centered cubic as the stable structure.
