Abstract

Some methods to use the database systems in a proper manner are presented. A database system guarantees, under a variety of failure scenarios, that transactions appear to execute in some serial order. A database system also allows concurrency but locking should be used to ensure serializability. It has the advantage that it is easier to implement failure recovery by simple logging.
