    Abstract

A toy model which exhibits quite a few protein-machinelike properties was designed. The usefulness of a toy allows to gain some insights into the general concept of a machinelike function of proteins. Thus, the described model was designed in such a way that the energy of the globule at one end of the rearrangement path was higher than at the other. Playing with the toy allows to gain some insights into the general concept of a machinelike function of proteins.
