Abstract

Magnonics seeks to control the excitation, propagation and transduction of spin waves, i.e. propagating perturbations in the arrangement of spins in magnetic materials, for information processing. Here, we present our recent work on the manipulation of spin waves in nanoengineered magnetic materials. First, we present a technique, tam-SPL, for nanopatterning spin textures in magnetic multilayers. Then, we discuss the use of spin textures for controlling the emission, propagation and interference of spin waves, aiming to develop energy-efficient wave-based computing platforms.
