Abstract

The polarization characteristics of a number of detectors of vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) radiation are present¬ed. In two cases it is shown that relatively minor modifications to commercial detectors lead to analyzers with high polarization sensitivity. A simple analyzer which incorporates the polarization characteristics of both the reflection and photoemission processes is presented, and its performance is illustrated.
