Abstract
Despite progress made in HIV prevention among many adult populations, HIV infection remains a threat to the health of both gay and straight adolescents. This study examined the impact of the New York City (NYC) public high school condom-availability program by comparing rates of sexual activity and condom use for NYC students with similar students in Chicago who did not have access to the program. Condom availability had a modest but significant effect on condom use at last intercourse but did not increase rates of sexual activity.
