Dual mode and wavelength-division multiplexing

Abstract

Simultaneous mode and wavelength division multiplexing is proposed using integrated asymmetric directional coupler and multimode interference waveguide. Using numerical simulations, the device exhibits low insertion loss of 1.2dB and a cross-talk of -18dB.
