Abstract

The effects of blood contamination on microtensile bond strengths between resin interfaces were evaluated. The best decontamination method to re-establish the original resin-resin bond strengths was determined. Findings show that rinsing blood from contaminated surfaces increases the resin-resin bond strengths. The application of an appropriate adhesive was also found to increase the bond strength to control levels.
