Abstract

We study how the pore morphology (roughness, tortuosity) can lead to systematic errors in the electrical estimation of the permeability of a porous medium. The influence of the morphology on the dynamical permeability at moderate and low frequencies is studied by comparing the exact response function with the Johnson-Koplik-Dashen electrical fit (J. Fluid. Mech. 179, 379 (1986)), for corrugated, axisymmetric micropores.
