Abstract

This bilingual (English and Arabic) book examines material and ephemeral culture pertaining to Emirati identity. It features nearly one hundred community sourced objects of adornment and related oral histories. The compilation was accompanied by an exhibition curated by Dr. Michele Bambling and held at Warehouse421 in Abu Dhabi as well as during Dubai Design Week under sponsorship of L’Ecole Van Cleef & Arpels.
