Abstract
Postoccupancy evaluation (POE) has expanded beyond its academic origins and is now routinely performed in government, industry and private design and consulting practice. It is proposed that a POE can be evaluated both by whether it meets its own goals and whether it meets more general methodological standards. Several examples of “successful” evaluations are presented and an overall framework for evaluating evaluation is proposed.
