Abstract

Facile hydrophlic surface modification of poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE) was investigated. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) were telechelically modified with fluoroalkyl hydrophobic groups and thin hydrogel layer was transferred onto PTFE surfaces by dip-coating. It was observed that the physisorption of PEG onto PTFE changes the surface properties of PTFE from hydrophobic to hydrophilic.
