Abstract

The neutron star low-mass X-ray binary Cen X-4 has been in quiescence for the past ~41 years, after its last reported outburst in 1979. Signs of a recent (August 2020) brightening were first reported in ATel #14254 thanks to the optical monitoring performed with the Las Cumbres Observatory (LCO) network of 2-m and 1-m robotic telescopes.
