Abstract

Finite element domain imbedding methods for the Helmholtz equation with Neumann and Dirichlet boundary conditions on nonrectangular domains in two space dimensions are considered. A survey and comparison of known methods are given, and a number of improvements suggested. Results of numerical experiments are also presented.
