Abstract
A conference entitled “Gender and Economics in MENA: From Theory to Policy Making” was organized and hosted by the Gender and Public Policy Program in partnership with the Center of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR) and the World Bank. Over 130 scholars, policy makers, media and NGO representatives from throughout the region attended the conference. The aim of the conference was to bring together a network of academics, researchers and policy makers from the Arab region and the Gulf, to contribute to
the debate about the challenges and opportunities of producing and disseminating research on gender and public policy in the Arab world.
