    Abstract

The Hall response function of symmetric and asymmetric planar Hall effect devices was examined by scanning a magnetized tip above a sensor surface . Hall sensor geometries were tailored, in standard symmetric and asymmetric geometries, using a focused ion beam. The results showed a way to pattern Hall sensors for enhanced spatial resolution.
