Abstract

The gesture segmentation problem is introduced as the first step towards visual gesture recognition i.e. with the detection, analysis and recognition of gestures from sequences of real images. Our gesture segmentation scheme is composed of two steps: accurate gesture contour tracking in space domain, and continuous tracking in time domain. Experimental results and implementations issues are presented.
