Abstract

This chapter describes key principles for helping children to acquire oral vocabulary development. It then highlights the effects of an embedded multimedia intervention on low-income children’s developing vocabulary and conceptual knowledge. It argues that media can have a synergistic effect on children’s learning when well crafted to promote achievement.
