Abstract

This paper presents harmonic modeling and simulation of a 69/13.8 kV power distribution system using two types of simulation approaches: a frequency-domain method and a time-domain method. Two software packages were selected: the EDSA Electrical Power System Design Software and the Power System Blockset of the Matlab/Simulink package. Results of simulations are compared to field measurements. Advantages and disadvantages of the two Harmonic simulation approaches are presented and discussed.
