Abstract

A compact (70 μm) hybrid device that can multiplex two modes, TE0 and TE1, and two wavelengths, 1550 and 1310 nm is demonstrated. Experimental results exhibit an insertion-loss of 1.5 dB and crosstalk < 18 dB.
