Abstract
I am pleased to write this brief note about Professor K.K. Phua, with whom I got connected via the International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, during my time as its Director. The Founding Director of ICTP, Nobel Laureate Professor Abdus Salam, was one of the inspirations for Phua and World Scientific. Thus there had been strong ties between ICTP and World Scientific during Salam’s time, which I was glad to revive.
