Abstract
The metallic salt (TMTSF)2ClO4 undergoes a series of magnetic field induced transitions at low temperatures above a threshold field Hk. We present magnetization studies of this system which enablish the isotropic and anisotropic behavior of the two-dimensional charge system and which demonstrate the orbital nature of the transitions. Finally we discuss the theoretical progress in understanding this rich physical system, including some unusual possibilities to explain some of the observed behavior.
