Abstract
Andrew P. Sage (S'56—M'57—SM'65—F'76) received the B.S. degree from The Citadel, Charleston, SC, the M.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, and the Ph.D. degree from Purdue University, Lafayette, IN, in 1960. He left the Chairmanship of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Southern Methodist University in 1974 to accept the Lawrence R. Quarles Chair in Engineering Science and Systems, University of Virginia, Charlottesville, and became Associate Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science. He is author or coauthor of a number of texts and research papers, and has received several awards. His research interests include decision analysis, optimization and estimation theory with applications to decision and control in large-scale systems.
