Abstract

The problem of designing a maximally flat low-pass, high-pass reactance-ladder diplexer with adjustable crossover attenuation and variable bandwidth, is an outstanding one which is currently receiving a great deal of attention. Our paper presents a reasonably complete theoretical and practical solution based on a new and simple algebraic formulation. In particular, the desired solution is shown to be related to the existence of a strictly-Hurwitz polynomial that satisfies certain divisibility conditions.
