Abstract

This paper addresses the problem of approximating multichannel sfable systems by lower order sfable system transfer funcfions that interpolate the partial impulse response matrix sequence of the original system. This is achieved by making use of the left- and right-Schur recursion algorithms, and in fhis conlexf, the classical Pad6 approximations fhat are also stable are shown i o be a special case of this general formulation.
