Abstract
Many couples fight about money, but there is little theory available in the professional literature to guide research or clinical activities. This paper explores power, commitment, trust, esteem, control and identity issues that surface in marital discord over money. It is suggested that marital problems over money are a transparency into the core dynamics of the relationship.
