She is particularly interested in the effects of interpersonal interactions (between clinicians or between clinicians and families) on patient safety, and on the nurse's role in maintaining safe care. Audrey has received two AWHONN research grants, including the 2006 Novice Researcher grant, which funded her dissertation study on communication and teamwork in intrapartum care. She is currently finishing a second AWHONN‐supported study of parents{\textquoteright} perspectives on safety in neonatal intensive care that was funded in 2012. ",
