Abstract

The methods for delivering object based video data are presented. The similarities and differences between object based encoding and trancoding, focusing specifically on the texture model used and different information that is available to each, are discussed. The concept of conditional distortion, which allowed to estimate the expected reconstruction error for candidate quantization parameter of each object, is introduced.
