Abstract

Cooperative coding is a way to exploit the diversity provided by user cooperation in wireless networks. In this paper, we provide performance analysis of cooperative space-time coding, which arises when mobiles have multiple antennas. We perform an asymptotic analysis in order to determine the achieved diversity order through cooperative space-time coding for various inter-user channel qualities. In addition, we derive tight bounds on the performance of cooperative space-time codes. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the results.
