Abstract

A description is given of a cusptron oscillator that uses a 16-slotted waveguide for the generation of the 16th cyclotron harmonic TE02 mode. At present, a weak signal at the expected frequency (15.8 GHz) has been detected. Characteristic equations and particle simulations are examined, and preliminary experimental results are discussed.
