Abstract

A parametric study of the saturation efficiencies of the cusptron microwave devices operating at both pi and 2 pi modes has been performed. The purpose was to determine the optimized design parameters for the devices. Three parameters, the initial relativistic factor of the electron gamma //0, the ratio of the outer radius b to the inner radius a, and the number n of the slotted resonant structure, were varied in the numerical analyses for parametric study. The waveguide modes in the lowest three dispersion branches were considered.
