Abstract

Despite the special problems created by the unique aspects of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) epidemic, children infected with HIV share many features with those affected by other chronic illnesses. By approaching pediatric HIV disease in the same comprehensive fashion, there is much that can be done to help the afflicted child and family.
