Abstract
This work, investigates two peniotron modes (TE12 2π mode and TE71 π mode) in a cusptron configuration via numerical simulations. The results show that both modes can be excited separately in the experimental device for microwave generation. They are indeed confirmed experimentally by matching the frequencies of the radiations with the dispersion relation of the two peniotron modes in the 16 slot waveguide. The output signals of the TE12 and the TE71 modes (before accounting for the insertion loss of the measurements) are detected to be -10dBm and -25dBm, respectively. They represent 30W and 1W with an estimated 55dB insertion loss.
